New 404 Page

I have updated the page that shows when a page is missing. I think it is more useful now than it was previously. You can see it at 153rd.com/sam/404.html.

SSI Joins Site

After playing around with some SSI in one of the testzones, I have decided to trial a simple implementation of in the AS Level Directory.

It replaces the old notices at the bottom of pages with my name, my email, my homepage and images indicating the validity of the site. It adds information with regard to when the last update to the page was and it is 100% seperately hosted in end.shtml.

I have chosen to colour it with the background colours of the boxes. If this is implemented on a broader scale (like at the bottom of every page) I will have to investigate the readability of these colours. The red one is just readable. But it is not desined to be noticed. It is a subtle extra.

Site Back Up

Every so often using the CoreFTP client I completely back up the site. Just to ensure that if anything ever happened it would still all be safe.

Today is on such day. And I thought I'd tie it in with a launch of a new Back Up page in the Site section. This will list the dates of all the latest back ups, mainly for my own convience so I can tell when it is time for another.

I have included statistics regarding the number of files and folders (as well as their total size in MB) that make up the site. Currently there are about 1, 400 files in 200 folders giving a total size of about 30MB. When the figures are in from the latest pull I'll have a better idea of exact numbers.

Site Section Index Created

I have finally made 153rd.com/sam/site or the "Site Section Index" a page. It is long overdue and it ties together alot of the recent updates like the feedback, and statistics page.

I have decided (as pondered here) to also include the few odds and ends that are otherwise unlinked in the site in this section. They appear in a small box at the bottom. The new comments blog is also linked in.

Dragon Now Part of Family

Katie's Dragon has always resided in the family directory in terms of its URL. But now I have upgraded it to the all style sheet which allows it to take the family colours, rather than the previous red it used.

As it is now a fully fledged piece of the family directory I have added it to the list, as well as upgrading the family page to the now dominant boxed format.

Page Rank 3/10

I just found this site that gives you your page rank as an image. You can then copy and paste it on to your site. I was amazed to see that 153rd.com/sam has got 3/10.

Take a look at this:

Neat wouldn't you say?

// Update: Admittedly now I seem to have been re ranked as zero. It was 3 at one time I promise.
