Reduced Text Size & New Backup

I have lost 5 pts on the archive box page. I will probably be pulling the prose page soon as it is full of so many links to pages that are yet to be made. I am also currently downloading the first backup of the site at its new location. The way I run uploads these days means that I have a virtual complete copy of the site backed up continuously. But every once in a while it is good to get a full backup just to store, not to edit further. The backup is downloding as I write this.

As long as I submit this post now this will make the backup...

New Hosts

As you may have heard on Friday 27th January 2006 early in the morning 153rd.com/sam ended. Forever. My previous host, FunkgerM stopped using his domain and my site (a subdomain) therefore was chopped. I assume that throughout the day aluminium fans found themselves against error signs. Today on Saturday 28th January 2006 I can announce that the site is back online with new hosts.

DreamHost is now keeping the site online in a 1 year deal. After that I may renew or perhaps move hosts depending on the service experienced and the renewal price. Since the domain was enabled late on Friday I have moved the vast majority of visited pages onto the new server and updated links so it all works. I have not uploaded the huge pile of stuff that is never visited and I will slowly phase this back on, as it is obviously less of a priority. The nature of the hosting is paid, which is very different to ever previously. I am therefore thinking over site advertising very carefully. It is a possibility that adverts will be implemented across the site to help fund the changes. Don't worry though this is a long way off and any adverts will be small text adverts. This site will never support image adverts or pop ups.

I have kept the layout identical, and everything is where it was before but instead of http://153rd.com/sam we have http://sam.davyson.com. More space and more control than ever previously is only good news for the development of the site. Expect to see the site growing beyond what we saw in 2005.

Thank you for your continued support.

Please note the three blogs that run on this site (of which this is one) have been transferred to the new server. But updating the links in previous posts is tricky. So expect some broken links.
